The protection of your personal data is important to Menon, here we provide detailed information regarding the protection of your personal data.

As the “Data Controller”, and through our Menon brand, we are responsible for collecting and processing your personal data in connection with our activities. The purpose of this information is to let you know what personal data we collect, why we use and share it, how long we keep it and how you can exercise your rights.

In addition, more information may be made available in the case of contracting specific products or services.

What personal data do we use?

We collect and use your personal data to the extent necessary for the development of our activities and in order to achieve a high standard of personalized products and services.

We collect various types of personal data, including:

  • identification data (e.g. name, identification document numbers, nationality, date and place of birth, gender, IP address);
  • contact details (e.g. address, email address, telephone number);
  • data relating to your interactions with us: through our services (face-to-face, customer service, information line, chats), our website menon.pt, our apps, meetings, contacts, emails, interviews, telephone contacts;
  • video surveillance (including CCTV)

We never process personal data relating to your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic data or data relating to your sex life or sexual orientation.

The personal data we use may be provided directly by you or obtained from the following sources, with a view to verifying and enriching our databases:

  • publications/databases from official entities;
  • corporate clients or service providers;
  • commercial partners to whom the transmission has been consented;
  • websites/social media pages with information made public by you (e.g. personal website);
  • databases made publicly available by third parties.

Why and on what grounds do we use your personal data?

Who do we share your personal data with?

In order to fulfill the purposes mentioned in the previous section, we only transmit your personal data to:

  • Subcontracting entities, namely for the provision of mail and document transportation services, IT services, digital communication and marketing services and archiving services, at our service;
  • Judicial or official bodies, notaries and lawyers in the context of any dispute that may arise between the parties or claim.

How long do we keep your personal data?

We will retain your personal data for the maximum period required to comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations or another period related to our operational requirements, with a view to facilitating the management of the contractual relationship, and responding to requests addressed to us. For example, most customer information is kept for the duration of the contractual relationship, and for some time after its termination, and, for example, for the purposes of complying with tax obligations, personal data relating to invoicing may be kept for a maximum period of 10 years from the time of the act.

What are your rights and how can you exercise them?

In accordance with the applicable regulations, the data subject has the following rights:

  • Informação e acesso: através do qual pode obter informação relativamente ao tratamento efetuado quanto aos seus dados e obter cópia dos mesmos.
  • Rectification: whenever you consider that your personal data is inaccurate or incomplete, you can request that it be rectified accordingly.
  • Erasure: you can request the erasure of your personal data, to the extent legally permissible.
  • Limitation: you can request the limitation of the processing of your personal data.
  • Objection: the data subject may object to the processing of their personal data, in particular on the basis of legitimate interests, for reasons relating to their particular situation. The data subject may object at any time when the data is processed for direct marketing purposes, including profiling in connection with such direct marketing.
  • Automated decisions: where applicable, the data subject has the right to obtain human intervention from the controller, express their point of view and contest automated decisions, including profiling.
  • Withdrawing consent: in cases where you have given your consent to the processing of personal data, you can withdraw it at any time.
  • Portability: where legally permissible, you have the right to the return of personal data concerning you that you have provided to us, or, if technically possible, to its transfer to another third party responsible for processing.
